TGIF!

Good day everyone!

After spending the noonday with girlfriends, on Friday night, My family and I went out to have a Chinese buffet dinner together. We had steamboat with combo fish ball and meatball, chicken, fish, prawns, mushrooms, and green vegetables. Besides steamboat, there were also veggie salad, Thai chicken rice, Thailand style beef kway teow, assorted sushi rolls, char kway (Chinese cruller or fried dough sticks) dipped in mayonnaise, avocado pudding, and mixed sweet dessert. I am not going to give any pretentious comment on their taste, since they all tasted the same, which is delicious.

[1] Our simmering steamboat. The pot we used is a hot pot with a divider, because we had two different soup base, which I kind of forgot because I didn't pay attention at all since I was busy taking picture here and there. [2] Thai chicken rice. The steamed chicken fillets were succulent, and I like the fragrant rice very much. So delicious. [3] Thailand style beef kway teow. Father and I were agree that this 'kway teow' didn't look like any common kwee teow out there. Common kway teow is about one centimeter in width, but the width of this version of kway teow is far less than one centimeter. No matter how many times I see this picture, it looks more similar to noodles. [4] A piece of sushi rice topped with green salmon roe.

After dinner, we went for a quick grocery shopping. Parents were busy picking fruits, while their children - big sister, me, and little brother - had fun playing with my camera.

[5] Berries. Random. [6] Parents were comparing prices while I took their pictures. [7] Lil' brother and big sister were having fun taking picture with delicatessen. [8] Me. Well, actually I didn't want to post my photo, but it's been a while since the last time I posted it. Besides, I had my two-year-worth long hair cut, so I think my new short hair deserves a little spotlight.

Good talk everyone. See you in the next post. Until then, take care!

Love sweets, love life

Good day everyone!

I had a pleasant day on Friday with my junior-to-senior high school girlfriends. They are four lovely ladies I'm very proud of to befriended with, each names are Lia, Rusti, and Munie. To me, they were like my all-time favorite song I never get tired of and they are just simply precious. I think I couldn't find any words that could ever delineate the significance of their existence in my life. It's quite bewildering how long we are remain best friend despite us walking on our own path of life after high school graduation. Lia enrolled in Medicine course at one of prestigious national universities in Solo, where she just recently got her bachelor degree and graduated last February. She is going to undertake the clinical clerkship program this March at a local hospital in Solo, so it seems that she's not going to be around for quite a while. Rusti, in the other hand, pursued her bachelor degree in accounting at one of top accredited private universities. She just finished her study and is planning to earn master degree in accounting at business school in Australia. And there is also Munie, who is a student of design and visual communication at another notable private university in Jakarta. She is now struggling with her final project and I'm cheering for her! Everyone in their final year are always busy, so I wish she could manage her time well and finish her final project timely. It's crazy, isn't it? We took different schools and programs, both are difficult with different degree of difficulties, but we're still together.

[1] Munie on the left with her camera, and Rusti on the right. [2] Lia's side face and her plate of Dory Fillet Pasta.

So, back to the main story, we had lunch around 1PM and spend the next 2 hours by chatting and laughing. Sometimes in the middle of conversation, we stopped talking, and there was only silence between whiles as we were busy with individual thoughts. I think I just had a little more than plenty of things I'd like to share with my girlfriends, but I needed to sort them out since some of them might be irrelevant. Typical me. To cut a long story short, we had a good time together, also another batch of beautiful photos. And by beautiful photos, I mean photos of my beautiful girlfriends.

[4] Menu book. I and Munie were agree that we love its fancy paper. [4] Tuna Pasta. It was supposed to be spicy, but it wasn't. Well, maybe it was, but I did think it was not all that spicy to the extent that the waitress had to emphasize on it. It felt as though the waitress were worried about me. Oh well, I'm quite flattered here. [5] Vanilla Profiteroles. We shared this sweet desert together and we love it.

Oh, I think this is the end already. Gotta go. See you in the next post! Until then, take care!

P.S I really need to find a proper ending line. The one I wrote just now is kinda lame, don't you think? Oh, whatever. Ignore me.

Dot Bravo

Good day, everyone!

First thing first, before I start jabbering away to you about things going on in my life, I would like to thank God for every blessings He gave me. I am so overwhelmed with guilt, because I have never been a decent child to Him, yet He always carry out His best plan in my life. I am both very grateful and happy for all the marvelous things He has done for me. But somehow, it makes me feel uneasy inasmuch as whenever I get too happy, bad things always happen. I think that's just how things balance each other out in the world. Hah!

Joking aside, on Wednesay, March 7th, I went to my uni to take care of my copy of certificate. This copy of certificate is needed to complete my application for admission to magister's entrance examination. It is issued by the faculty, and since my faculty - Faculty of Technology - haven't issued it yet, so I had to go back home empty-handed. As I walked by, I spotted something unusual with the garden decoration, and a minute later I realized that the center of my uni garden had become a hive of activity. It turned out that my uni was holding a bazaar organized by Faculty of Science and Mathematic from March 6th to 10th 2012. Actually, it is quite common to have bazaar in my uni. Every faculty has their own event and in every event, bazaar has always been part and parcel of it, which primarily plays a role in attracting lots of visitants.

Amongst various tenants participating in this event, there was this interesting shop opened, named 'Dot Bravo'. At first, this shop didn't get my attention, but not so long after the shop's waiter showed up and offered a free sample of fluffy cheese and chocolate bread. Ah, I'm very weak when it comes to free stuffs. I admit it, I'm cheap and love free stuffs, but who doesn't? Anyway, the fluffy bread tasted fine, so I ordered one portion of fluffy banana cheese and chocolate bread takeaway. I watched the whole process of the making, and I was quite fascinated when the chef tossed the dough and stretched it out without tearing.

I have so much more I want to blog, but I need to process the photos first and it seems pretty much daunting at the moment, so I am going to post them later. Good night everyone!

I don't want to be anywhere else but here with you

Good day, people!

Have I told you that I would come back for Canton Bay so long as they still had 30% off on all food? So yes, they still got 30% discount and yes, I fulfilled my promise and came back. This time, I didn't come back with my family, instead I came with my two lovely girlfriends from high school, Felicia Norenza (Felno, as we called her) and Muliany (a.k.a Munie). We had this little tradition of holding a get-together just to have lunch or dinner. Every time we meet, we spend our time mostly by sitting in a cozy restaurant, eating delicious food, sharing stories, giggling over random things, and everything else. All happy things, and that very moment, I always feel grateful for having them close as my best friends.

We arrived at the restaurant by 2 PM, and left around 6 PM, so what I'm trying to say is we spent more or less 4 hours sitting in this restaurant, while people kept coming and go. There is only me who has ever visited and eaten here, so naturally I'm more dominant in suggesting the ordered menu. For instance, I told them not to order the xiao lung baos (Shanghai steamed soup dumpling) because they are actually not as tasty as it's captured in the photograph in the menu book. Oops! I think I just spilled the beans! LOL.

So here are several pictures I'd love to share with you. Canton Bay Signage in mirror, our table, char siew ppau, and yin yang kai lan. They were fine.

Last but not least, my girlfriends. I feel sorry because I don't have Munie's photo shot from up front. I'll do better next time.

Good talk today. Talk to you later!

P.S I need more than 5 hours to arrange this post. This is my main reason why I seldom posting on my blog. No matter how much I enjoy blogging, it has taken up most of my time, my life. I'm trying to prevent blogging from encroaching on my study time.

At Canton Bay

Good day, everyone!

Following the first batch of photos I took within the eight months of me being MIA (Missing in Action) in the previous post, here I am presenting you the second batch. These photos was taken on January 24th, 2012, the day before my father's birthday. We were having a family dinner at some Chinese restaurant named Canton Bay. I like this restaurant, not only because they gave 30% discount on food for student card holder, but also because of its warm atmosphere, nice interior, and on top of everything else, is its open kitchen. Like seriously, though it might sound weird, but I always got a thing for open kitchen. I feel like every restaurant with open kitchen in it showing how much they are confident about their food quality, which is very reassuring for the customers, or at least, for me.

Anyway, these are some photos of the food I took. They were good. Well, actually I am not quite sure if I make a fair judgement here, 20% because I have this low sensitivity in my taste buds, therefore I can't really tell if the food is delicious or not, and 80% because they gave us 30% off on all food item. Anyway, I definitely am going back to this restaurant. So long as they still have this 30% discount promo. Ha!

Last but not least, photos of my family member! They're my precious, and one of my most favorite camera object too!

This is it for today. Talk to you later!
